These amazing shoes!
- Men from Mongolia were the first to wear shoes with high heels. Special footwear with rather high heels was made for the feet of the riders not to slip out of a stirrup while horse riding.
- In 1927 a fluoroscope for shoe stores was patented and became available in all European and American shoes shops. A customer got his foot x-rayed and the shoes were conveniently chosen in accordance to it. However, after numerous claims of harm to the health, caused by the high radiation dose (one woman even had her legs amputated) all the fluoroscopes were sent back to the producers and then destroyed.
- The hetaeras of Ancient Greece advertised their services with the help of special tips on the soles of their sandals. The tips had inscriptions on, so the traces of the women in the dust of the street said “Follow meâ€.
- In 2000 in a boxing match Mike Tyson knocked Julius Fransis down three times. Expecting this to happen, Fransis signed a contract with one company and placed its advertisement on the soles of his shoes, that were shown by the cameras after each and every knockdown.
